There is no luck required. Just follow the instructions on gentoo handbook and you'll be fine. 8)

i'm not going to try it again it almost broke my mbr

um..? almost broke your mbr?....how so/how exactly is that possible? i mean you do wipe the disk when you isntall...

Considering that there really is no installer, you almost broke your own mbr. :wink:

As I said before, if you follow the installation guide to the "T", you should have no problems. And as qub implied...any problems you have, we can most likely solve here. 8)

well it says there is nt enough space to copy files over

How big is the hard drive that you are installing on? Better yet...post your partition scheme. 8)

At what point does it tell you this?
