a little question regarding install gentoo.....dual boot.....
I am a Linux Noob and very serious about learning this OS. After some research and playing with Mandriva 10.2, i was told to get a better understanding of linux is to use Gentoo.
This is exactly what i intend to do.
At the moment i have 1 hdd in my system and windows is loaded on C:\ (20gigs NTFS) D:\ (155gig NTFS) (E:\ DVD Drive) F:\ 5Gig (Fat32 - allow data to be written by both oss) and fress space of 10Gig (unassigned = intened for linux)
Now I am at the part "Designing a Partioning Scheme"(just reading a bit, havent started have the download stage 1 disk tho ). I realise that Fdisk is a powerfull partion utility. how would i set this up so that it uses the spare space? and not hda1 ? (where window sits?)
any help would be greatly appreciated!
