Hi all i was wondering if it worth it to change my distribution from Slackware 10 to Gentoo.I have two Gentoo cd's(one live cd packages another) version 2004.1 .I read the installation handbook but i want to know if that version supports sata and if you can from installation select
the kernel 2.6.5 which it has
I would not suggest it. If you are looking for the emerge tool, that is avalible to Slackware. I think I wrote a post about it.
Emerde is the name. Bit creaky when I tried it on slackware.
ditto, i tried emerde, and had alot of broken compiles, and it was difficult to fix them becasue of the ebuilds, i ended up figuring i might as well switch to gentoo.
