i want to censor a part of an image using GIMP 2.6 how do i do that?

You can select that part and apply a filter like Gaussian blur(may need to apply it 2-3 times, or increase the radius) or mosaic or simply put a black shape in that place.

Anyone know when the 3-D glasses tool is coming out?

I like to use a black spot... which is easy (select the area and dump black in the selected area).... but my favorite is pixelizing someone or something. Just select the area you want to censor and right click on the image... goto Filters > Blur > Pixelize (or Pixelate)... I beleive that's where it is.
