GIMP alternative
If you're running a KDE desktop, and don't want to particularly use The GIMP, try Krita.

A heads up to Cinnerlla, its not particularly stable, save often. There has been alot of development adding new features, and distributed rendering on server farm style setups is used in production environments, but just a heads up, I havn't used it in a year or so, perhaps they have tightened that stuff up.

If you're after a bit of a list; what's available in accordance to applications that deal with graphics - I compiled a page or 2 on them. You can find them on wombat - here.
