So I tried a number of things with this disk boot failure.

-Replaced the drive with a new drive and installed mandriva again
-Replaced SATA cable
-Moved SATA cable to different port on motherboard
-Changed BIOS settings to boot from CD then HDD
-Disable Floppy boot/seek
-Unplugged and removed CMOS battery


I still get the message

 DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER
A live CD of Linux works fine. The Hard Drive shows up in the RAID utility that came with the motherboard but not in the BIOS. Only the CD drive shows up. There are no jumpers to check b/c its a SATA 1.5 Gbps. Anyone have any ideas what the problem might still be?
