Article in question: Lifehacker

I have a USR8054 router and after reading the above linked post, I went to the site to look at supported hardware to find that they don't have any USR stuff listed.

Is there a firmware upgrade like that for my router? Or, perhaps my router is actually a re-packedged version of one of those. I know that's been done on some occasions with hardware.

I'm very interested in the signal boost but, and this should a similar sentiment to anyone who frequents this board, I want total control of the unit.
