PCI card not detected
Hi
I have recently installed a new PCI card in my Linux (Ubuntu 7.04) system but it is not listed by lspci. The PCI card is a WinTV NOVA-T DVB 909, product description here.
When this card is installed lspci should list three multimedia controllers (as described here) but when it lists none on my system.
I have tried removing the other PCI cards on my system (sound card and modem) but this does not resolve the problem. Can anyone suggest what I should investigate next? Could it be a BIOS setting or should I be looking at kernel parameters. If it kernel parameter which should I try and how do it set them? Finally is lspci not listing the card so fundamental that I should be suspicions as to whether the card is broken or not - it does not seem to have any visible defects and it is brand new.
My PC is about 9 years old (350Mhz Pentium) but I'm not aware of new PCI cards being incompatible with old motherboards. Is that possibility?
Many thanks
Adam

I'm just guessing here, but maybe a BIOS upgrade for your motherboard would help if it's available.
