hi...i jus got a 512 mb ram Nvidia geforce 7300gt....am nt able to boot Ubuntu...but i can login using matrix login....there is no desktop but jus a CLI...i cudnt find ...

    issue with graphics card...


    hi...i jus got a 512 mb ram Nvidia geforce 7300gt....am nt able to boot Ubuntu...but i can login using matrix login....there is no desktop but jus a CLI...i cudnt find the drivers of the graphics card in the cd....help needed!!!

    First of all, fix Graphics temporarily.
    Execute this
    Code:
    sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf
    Set Driver "vesa" instead of "nv" in Section Device 'Video Card'. Save file and reboot machine. If your machine has internet access then its pretty easy to install nVidia Driver,
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    i dont have a net access thru ubuntu...

    hey devils_casper...well i checked out the file u said there i found out tat it was before itself mentioned tat driver as "vesa" nd i found out tat it was written as "generic video card"...
