dynamically switch of video card - under linux
I possess a assembled laptop produced by the Italian computer company CDC:
model: NB CDC PREMIUM 6965DW
characteristics: CPU Intel Centrino 1.86 GHz, RAM 1.0 GB, HDD 120 GB two video cards:
1.integrated card: Intel 915GM/PM/GMS/910GML
2. an additional l video card: nVidia GForce Go6600 128 MB
I have chosen a double graphical card laptop in order to have a better control over the duration of the battery.
For the moment am using KUBUNTU 7.10 which seems to be a distribution very compatible with my laptop. I managed to configure the integrated card with drivers taken from repositories but didn't manage yet to find the way which permit me automatically switch between two graphical cards (from integrated to nVidia and back). If I move the hardware switcher from Mobile 915GM/PM/GMS/910GML to nVidia card GForce Go6600 and reboot ubuntu server x stops (the reboot doesn't go on). In a few word I can not utilize two graphic cards with LINUX , but only choose one of them and configure it.
Can you give me any suggestion – how to have the possibility to change dynamically the video card like under windows?
Thanks in advance!
