    Turn off the fan(s)?

    How could I possibly turn off the fans inside of my computer?
    Is that possible?
    Is there a way that I can tell if it's possible?

    I think lm_sensors lets you do that. I know with my old Inspiron I had to load a module called i8k to manage fans and monitor temperature.

    Yes, it's possible, but I would highly not recommend it. You run the risk of overheating your components and/or frying your CPU. You might be able to play around with your case fans a bit, but I wouldn't mess with your CPU fan.
