Hi,

I have got fixed internal Tape drive ( Hp Storage works DAT 72 Digital Data Storage) on Hp Server ( Hp proliant ML570) on SCSI card having operating system redhat 4.

Its getting detected in hardware browser of the server
Hp C7438A
Manufacturer - Unkown
Driver - none or builtin
Device - /dev/st0

I have run the command as a root after inserting the tape
mt -f /dev/st0 status its giving /dev/st0: Input/output error

I have downloaded the drivers from the Hp site and I have run them in the run.

What could be the problem whether the drivers are not installed properly or whether the tape drive is not installed properly.
