Hi, there.

I always assumed htis server was troublesome. It just didn't seem right from day one. The OS seemed to hang before. It is a simple LAMP server, nothing too radical. It has 1GB/ram and a Pentium D 2.8Ghz I believe. It finally crashed so I got the chance to upgrade the OS from OpenSUSE 10.1 x64 to OSS 10.3 x64.

It ran great for about a day, then crashed. After a reboot, it seemed okay until it crashed again. And when I say crash, I mean the system locks up and is worthless. Top says the CPU util. is through the roof. I try to keep the servers under a CPU load of 2.

Now, I also noticed a lot of activity comes form syslog-ng. It is writing to /var/log/messages and the file it creat3ed is way too large to view. So, I renamed it and restarted the service. It is spitting out errors I am unfamiliar with...

And it keeps repeating over and over again. I checked out Google and it appears to be a SCSI problem, but I could have sworn the server has a mirrored raid array. I'm new to this, so any help is appreciated.

I just upgraded the BIOS and firmware last week, a few days before the sucker crashed.
