    HP F4180 Can Print from Opera but not with lp, lpr


    I just got a new HP F4180. I dual boot my PC. It installed and worked under
    Windows XP. I use Fedora 6. It will print when I use Opera but not when I use
    a linux window. It gets qued. I see the print job in lpstat -t. See lpstat -t output
    below. Notice the queues job (HP_Deskjet_F4100_series_USB_CN79J5V4CZ04TJ_HPLIP-1321).

    $ lpstat -t
    scheduler is running
    system default destination: HP_Deskjet_F4100_series_USB_CN79J5V4CZ04TJ_HPLIP
    device for Deskjet_F4100: hp:/usb/Deskjet_F4100_series?serial=CN79J5V4CZ04TJ

    Can you give examples of applications that do not print, to see if there is a pattern.

    I just found out that if I change the default printer destination to be Deskjet_F4100. The printer works,
    I apperciate yor help. Thank you for your quick reply.

    Here is what lpstat gives. Note there are two print jobs 1321 and 1323 queued which don't print. I usually cancel them.
