Resolution up to 1440x900 on laptop (intel 945GM)
Hi,
I am using opensuse 10.3 on a laptop Packard Bell Bu45.
This laptop has an Intel 945GM graphics card. Despite all my efforts i am not able to set my monitor resolution to 1440x900. I tried choosing a different monitor, even LCD 1440x900@60hz and nothing works. I can only set to 1280...
Xconfigig was edit to 32 bits but X wont start this way.. Im stuck... how can I enable this resolution?
anyone has this issue before?

your xorg.conf file is most likely wrong and only goes up to 1280x1024 in there, you will have to add the resolution, I'm not a suse expert, post output of
so we can verify your configuration fileCode:/etc/X11/xorg.conf

I know if you are using the i810 driver that you cannot get widescreen resolutions easily. I'm not sure about SUSE but with other distros there is a package called 915-resolution that you need to install to configure it. I believe also the new 'intel' driver supports widescreen natively.
