Ok so I think I am slowing narrowing down my issues.

I finally have a working xorg.conf file that at least allows KDM to start and run fine with both monitors plugged in. The 2nd monitor is not yet working but I think I might know why.

Here is the output of my lspci | grep VGA
    Code:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82845G/GL[Brookdale-G]/GE Chipset Integrated Graphics Device (rev 01)
01:04.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV280 [Radeon 9200 PRO] (rev 01)
Here is my device section for the Radeon 9200 card:
    Code:
    Section "Device"
Identifier	"ATI RADEON 9200 Video Card"
    	Driver "fglrx"
    	BusID "PCI:1:4:0"
    	Screen 1
    EndSection
    Relevant section for the Screen:
    Code:
    Section "Screen"
    	Identifier	"Right Screen"
Device "ATI RADEON 9200 Video Card"
    	Monitor "Mass Right"
    	DefaultDepth	16
    	SubSection "Display"
    		Depth 16
    		Modes "1280x1024" "1152x864" "1024x768" "800x600" "720x400" "640x480"
    	EndSubSection
    EndSection
    And the ServerLayout section:
    Code:
    Section "ServerLayout"
    	Identifier	"Default Layout"
    	Screen 0 "Default Screen" 0 0
Screen 1 "Right Screen" RightOf "Default Screen"
    	InputDevice	"Generic Keyboard"
    	InputDevice	"Configured Mouse"
    EndSection
Now everything that I can tell in my xorg.conf file is good to go. Next it took a look at the Xorg.0.log file and I can see that the fglrx module is getting loaded by the following lines from the log file:
    Code:
    II) LoadModule: "fglrx"
    (II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/fglrx_drv.so
(II) Module fglrx: vendor="FireGL - ATI Technologies Inc."
    	compiled for 7.1.0, module version = 8.28.8
    	Module class: X.Org Video Driver
ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 1.0
It later displays a section that shows the chipsets that are supported and my card is listed.

Then I a few lines later I see the following:
    Code:
(II) I810(0): ATI Proprietary Linux Driver Version Identifier:8.28.8
(II) I810(0): ATI Proprietary Linux Driver Release Identifier: LGDr8.28g1

    (II) I810(0): pEnt->device->identifier=0xb7ec5500
(EE) Screen 1 deleted because of no matching config section.
    (II) UnloadModule: "fglrx"
So this makes me believe that for some reason, even though everything appears to be configured correctly and the system sees the video card, Xorg for some reason is not able to detect it after loading the driver.

So does anyone have any additional advice at this point? I am going to keep poking around but I was hoping someone might have something to add.
