[SOLVED] Dell Inspiron 530 Ubuntu Install

    Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to share with you an experience I had. I recently bought a Dell Inspiron 530. Like usual it came with the virus called Micro$oft Windows. I immediate attempted to boot it using the Ubuntu live/install disc.

It had tons of issues not only with graphics but with keyboard input. Anything typed on the keyboard was interpreted twice. It could not run in graphical mode and at a particular point in the attempted install it halted altogether.

To solve this, Enter the bios setup and change your hard disc mode from IDE to RAID.
Why this is the solution, I do not know. But it works and I have not had any problems since.
