The influence of the case on case flow
Purportedly cases are designed to allow for optimal case flow, provided the motherboard and components are installed as listed. I am just wondering whether there is a benefit (performance or otherwise) when having the case off the computer. The computer will be somewhat noisier and ultimately unsafe, but perhaps better cooled because there is access to more cold air?

My boxes have always run a bit cooler with the case open. I can't speak for everyone else, though.
