A problem with USB hub?
Got this USB, 4 orifice, hub in the Everything's a £Pound shop.
Have been having trouble with DVD writer, but thought it was because I foolishly only had half the RAM it needed - still only have half the RAM it needs. So wrote a shell program that splits stuff up into 350000 byte chunks and feeds them in one at a time with a 2 second pause between. But it still went awol, always at the same place in a particular file. Problem involved disapearance of /dev/sr0 or whatever it's called.
Tried to copy stuff from one flash drive to another using hub. Both went wrong with disapearance of /dev special device.
Shell program works without the hub for DVD writer. So is there some general problem with hubs? Debian Etch. TIA.
