    Hey There: Sandisk U3 Question

Hey guys i just got linux a little while ago and figure that i would see if there where any good linux forums to hang on while im learning linux i got backtrack 3 linux (slackware i think its called). Im having a little touble already i was wondering if you guys could help me out a little. I want to boot up from my flashdrive i have a sandisk U3 cruzer micro (it still has the U3 software on it) and i put linux on it but my comp wont boot up from a USB port, but i noticed that the CD boot reconized the U3 software as a CD. I was wondering if i could get rid of the U3 and put the linux on the usb but have the computer detect the linux as a disk insted of just files on the flash drive. I dont really want to put it onto an actuall disk i would like to keep it on the flash drive if possable.
