will we have support for our scanners in linux someday?i have an hp 4300c scanjet scanner and i can't get it working..hp does not support this model in linux..why can't they make available a driver for this device as nvidia and ati did?
what are their fear in hp for?

Have you tried the google.com/linux? I turned up many results looking for HP scanners (not sure about your model, but I'm sure there's something close). I know that people have gotten scanners working in Linux.
As far as HP writing Linux drivers, pester them. If a company has enough customers asking for something, you will eventually get it. It's just a matter of numbers and persistance.

so do we all have the same problem to send mails to hp to create drivers making that way our life easier?i think they won't consider them..

i searched over the net and found that my scanner (hp scanjet 4300c) works (basic works) under sane..i'll try to see if really works..
