You don't say what distribution. PCLinuxOS, Ubuntu, Mandriva, Suse
aor something else?
What have you tried and what errors did you get if any?If we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate! (Zapp Brannigan)

More info as suggested by elija would be very helpful.
Go to your web browser and enter localhost:631 into your location bar and try to install it from there.oz

Firstly, I connected the printer to PC and power on, so as to ditectl the printer through Kudzu, printer is ditected, but it give message "document sent for printing", however, printer is not given printing of even test page, therefore, i tried through localhost:631, but same problems exists. Especially, there are no specific driver exists in the list, so I select the driver for "Laser Jet", then "DeskJet" and thereafter "Photosmart P 1005", but the problem exists.

HP P 1005 installation on Redhat Linux-3
Firstly, I connected the printer to PC and power on, so as to ditectl the printer through Kudzu, printer is ditected, but it give message "document sent for printing", however, printer is not given printing of even test page, therefore, i tried through localhost:631, but same problems exists. I actually added the printer, but could not get hard copy of document or test page, is there any specific "driver" for this printer!

Have you actually added the printer?
For my HP (PSC 2100) I had to manually go and add it to the printers
list. I did this using HPLIP (which on my Mint install is under System)
then it worked. If HPLIP is not installed, try installing it and seeing
if that helps. It shold be in your repositories. If we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate! (Zapp Brannigan)

How you would install it depends on the distro you are using.
For example in Mint/Ubuntu you would fire up Synaptic and search
for hplip, make sure it is checked and then click apply. If we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate! (Zapp Brannigan)
