I'm about creating a backup solution using tape drives (ex: using amanda) and I want to know if there is a way to simulate a tape drive to do my tests on it.

I want to have a "fake" node like /dev/nst0 where I can do operations like rewind read write ... maybe piped to a directory on my hard disk.
