recreate raid array without data loss
after a reinstall, my md raid arrays are no longer available. how can I recover them without losing the data on them?
I probably will need to use mdadm with --assume-clean, but what more? I do have a copy of my old mdadm.conf.
I have sorted which partitions belong in which array based on size. the drives changed name during reinstall (hd* became sd*). since the old array was sorted alphabetically, can I assume that this will work, or can this damage the arrays irreversibly?Last edited by edgjerp; 05-01-2008 at 11:04 AM. I did as when I created the arrays the first time, except adding --assume-clean and had no problem making it work.
