monitors
I have a 17" Dell monitor and a savage s4 video card in the AGP slot. Most of my desktop applications display in the full screen, but some of the browser images are smaller on some of the sites. Yahoo home page is about right if iI had a 15" screen. This page and others displays correctly on my 17" screen. Is this just the way some web pages display or do I have a problem? I am using suse 9.0 pro.

The problem is with the website. Not your monitor. Some websites optimise for a certain resolution and don't automatically tell your browser to adjust.
I believe Yahoo is set for 1024x768. I'm guessing your 17" runs native at 1280x1024 thus producing a smaller image.
I see this all the time because I run at 1920x1440.OH NOOOOO!!!!!! You did it the way I said?

i agree with u-turn.maybe you should also check your resolution..if it is 1280*1024 try using 1024*768.that may work..
