Video card: overheating!
Hey guys,
I've an ATI X1600 series card, when I am in linux, the card temperture is so high that I can't touch it, about 70 degrees(centigrade). I found that the fan speed not change with the raising temperature, why?
Is there anyone else has the same experience with me?
Thanks a lot!

I think it's a driver issue, if you are saying that the fan speed doesn't change when the normal temperature gets higher or lower the drivers just doesn't know how to handle with it.
Are you using the latest drivers, or the decent driver?

It could be Hardware/Software problem.
Which Linux distro are you using? Have you installed ATI Proprietary Driver? It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
