HDD goes crash

i have one HDD
SAMSUNG SP0411C (40GB/7200rpm/2M)

i think it's power IC goes crash !!

when i connect power cable of HDD PC does not boot
but, when i remove it PC can !!

so what can i do to recover my DATA
it's important DATA for me

so give me solution of this problem
as soon as possible

Several questions:
1) are you trying to add the SAMSUNG or was it already installed and the system was working and then stopped (did you modify any system files or do a kernal update ?

2)more info on "will not boot" ie:
a) comp will not pass its POST tests ?
b) comp will boot into GRUB but than fails ?
c) comp will start loading the linux kernal but then fail ?

i think it's power IC goes crash

if that is the case , you could try to find the exact hdd and replace the pc card or send it in for recovery ($$). (do not open the hdd case)
