Are kernal modules for your hardware just drivers? If so, how do you find out which ones you need for your hardware? Thanks....

Typically i've gone to google and searched for "<Manufacturer> <model> modprobe". Normally i find a page from a mailing list of some description with someone telling someone else what module they need to modprobe to get their hardware working. Admitedly there may be another better way (im sure there is) that i dont know of.
