    mdadm, chunk size, and stride

    OK, I am new to this, and am looking for some recommendations/explanations.

    I have 4 - 500 GB SATA drives that I plan on using for data. I am setting them up in a raid 10. While reviewing information on this I came across people adjusting the chunk size, stride (on the file system), and so forth.

    Can anyone give me pro/cons of small/large chunk sizes? Performance benchmarks? Any info you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
