I am having problems with my HP dv1000 hd. I ran the HDD BIOS test and that failed so I assume the hd needs to be replaced. If the hd needs to be replaced I figured I would upgrade. Any suggestions and are special tools needed? How can I tranfer the data from my old hd before installing a new one? I do have an external drive available.
