I have acquired a very old computer. I would like to know if there are any linux distros that are usable on such obsolete equipment. I have listed what I could find of useful information below. Also, I am interested in learning about places that might be looking for this type of hardware.
Model# MT-2400-24853C
Motherboard: (I found 4 different stickers with numbers on them)
Sticker 1:201-00012200CC
Sticker 2:Converted to 201-00023
Sticker 3:6B563000305
Sticker 4:B2048754
Processor:
Socket 7 with an Intel Pentium SY015
Memory:
4 slots, 3 slots are bunched together, and the forth one is on its own, perhaps 1cm away. There were two rather unsophisticated looking RAM chips, both labeled MC-422000F32BA-60 9641SP0433
Riser Card:
P/N:30040-001 PWB REV:B01
Sound Card: (connected to the Riser Card)

Welcome to the forums!I would like to know if there are any linux distros that are usable on such obsolete equipment.
You can always try one of the lighter weights such as Damn Small Linux or Puppy, and if they work you can move on to a few of the heavier distributions to decide which works best on your specific hardware and better suits your personal tastes.oz
