    I am an idiot! (formatted disk)

    I changed my ext3 disk to an ext2 partition, and I was actually surprised when it turned out all my data was gone. Silly silly me.

    I don't suppose there is any way to recover my files?

    You can try using TestDisk. It's good for recovering partition tables/files and will probably be your best shot.

    Once of the easiest ways to get and run it is on PartedMagic LiveCD.
