    ¿unplug or not 2nd graphic from pci express?

    Hi everyone!.

    I have a doubt with the power consumption of my pci-express video card. If the card is not unplugged from the bus and if I have the driver unloaded from the OS and if I am using the integrated motherboard's video gpu ¿Is there energy consumption by it?

    Obviously I know that the better choice is to unplug the video card but I have curiosity in this matter.

    Yes, it is still drawing power from the motherboard in order to function. At least enough to run the GPU fan, but I'd say its using some idle power.

    Thanks for the answer. The card doesn't have any fan, it uses a heatsink, anyway I supose even though It will continue spending some power.
