SCSI rescan for resized drives
Assume that I'm using a /dev/sdb partition which is carved from a SAN.
I re-size the LUN on the SAN in order to give the partition more space.
Red Hat Knowledgebase: How do I rescan the SCSI bus to add or remove a SCSI device without rebooting the computer?
The above procedure works fine when adding SCSI devices, but it did
not work when my device simply changed size. I rebooted the server.
Is there another method that might automatically change the size that
I can use instead? Perhaps I should use the "remove" procedure and a
re-scan afterward in order to see the new space without a reboot?
Thanks!
