Recovering ext 3 files from formatted drive
Hello
This is my first post on here, i am a member of PCHelp forum but i thought this would be a better place to post my predicament.
I have a formatted drive which i need to recover files from, they are ext 3 files.
Can anyone suggest which software i can use to do this without paying through the nose to do it?
Thanks

From my experience it's very rare that you can recover all data from
formatted drive but with very good forsenic tools you can recover files.
Have you re-formatted old ext3 dirve again with same ext3 ?
If so,Most likely the content will be there without any links -- you need to approach third party forensic recovery tools.(you need to pay them
)
Though i'm haven't used following tools yet - you may interested in it.
Foremost
PhotoRec - CGSecurity
TestDisk - CGSecurity
Also check with carlo wood ext3grep forums
ext3grep | Google Groups
Else drop a mail at ext3 users list.
