I'm not sure I understand your question. Do you need to burn a linux dvd?

Welcome to the forums!
Most hardware works with Linux these days without having to install additional drivers. Can you provide more details as to why you think you need a driver, or are you asking what drives work with Linux?oz

External dvd drive
I have plugged in the external dvd but my computer does not pick it up/register it and I am therefore unable to use it to read or write. However the dvd drive will power up and read the driver disc supplied but will not install.

I have a Liteon external DVDRW Drive that all my Linux Distros mount up just fine. You haven't mentioned what Distro you are using and what Kernel.
Open a Terminal and type and then hit enter
and then type in and hit enterCode:cat /etc/issue
Copy and Paste readouts in your next post so members can see what you are running.Code:uname -r
