I know, the correct answer is "Do not bay uncompatible hardware". But I have it already from the past window$ life. Here's the situation:
HP ScanJet 3690c

What can I do if my scanner is not supported by SANE?
I know, the correct answer is "Do not bay uncompatible hardware". But I have it already from the past window$ life. Here's the situation:
HP ScanJet 3690c
Page at 'sane-project.org/unsupported/hp-scanjet-3690.html' says it's unsupported by SANE. I installed sane (xsane, gimp-sane, etc.) on my Fedora 11 system in a vain hope it will be working anyway. When I run xsane it starts scanning for scanners and detects my Scanjet 3690c as 3670c (it is too marked as unsupported on Sane-project page). When I'm trying to start scan the process begins but in a second it stops and the program halts producing bug report.
Is there way I can use my scanner?
Thank in advance!

If I'm not? Should I became? No other solutions?
I saw thread about my scanner model on Sane-devel mailing list. As I could understand from it there's some technical problems of brining it to life. My last chance was there's some other alternative driver.
Thanks for suggestion.
