I just installed ubuntu 9.04 for the first time.
The problem is that I can't get sound to function normally.
All I hear is white noise, I suppose it is a problem with the driver.
I have a ASRock 4core1600p35-WiFi motherboard, and the sound card is integrated
I can't find a driver for linux, on a cd that I got with it there is only drivers for windows xp and vista.
Does anyone know how to fix that?
sorry for the bad english

Welcome to the forums!

Check these two pages for some troubleshooting tips:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SoundTroubleshooting
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingSoundProblems
After going through these tips, post back if you continue to have problems.
Edit: I should add that most Linux drivers come included within the kernel, proprietary video drivers and sometimes network drivers sometimes being the exception.Last edited by oz; 10-18-2009 at 08:41 PM.
