Welcome to the forums!

I've not tested that drive personally, but was recently looking at it, thinking about purchasing it for myself, and read elsewhere that it worked under Linux Mint, and Ubuntu, so it should work under other distributions, as well.oz

On the box it only says that it work with windows and mac, so I'm little afraid to buy something that doesnt work with ubuntu.
I did not istalled yet ubuntu but I wish to swicth to linux lately...
Do you know if an hardware that work with linux as something wrote on the box or is not necessary?!

Most hardware makers don't bother to put anything about Linux on their packaging even when they know it will work will Linux.

Fortunately, most external usb dvd/cd drives use standard controls so they will work just fine with just about any system. I have some old iomega and plextor usb cd/dvd drives that work just fine with Linux systems.

Sorry, I don't know of such a list. As I said, most (or all) current models should work without difficulty.

I've not seen a DVD player that doesn't work with Linux, yet. Buy it and then install it, if it doesn't work, then return it to where you bought it for an exchange.
I do not respond to private messages asking for Linux help, Please keep it on the forums only.
