I forgot to tell, that I've also compiled the original cdrecord from the lawful developer's home page. I'll try to reinstall the newer version of k3b just to make sure the error comes from k3b and not from wodim. I've used wodim in Jaunty without complains, so I believe that's up to k3b. It's in alpha stage yet. (One of the fatal idiotism of the distro maintainers is to take a vital piece of software, and start to experimenting with unstable releases.)
What a shameful approach from Debian's developers: In k3b dialogs you would see something like: cdrecord, path /usr/bin/wodim. This is a pure stealing, and nothing else. They should feel guilty at least!If you need a CD/DVD catalogizer, give a try to my program:

The symlinks are necessary to maintain compatibility. Some apps hard code the path.
