My HP Scanjet G2410 is recognised by Xsane in Ubuntu but scanning doesn't work.
I get an error message that the device can't be started and get running....

My HP Scanjet G2410 is recognised by Xsane in Ubuntu but scanning doesn't work.
I get an error message that the device can't be started and get running....
Can anyone help me...I really tried everything I could find on the Internet but nothing seems to help...
HP doesn't provide support on this scanner on Ubuntu linux and Ubuntu doesn't help much either.

Have you tried rebooting the system, with the scanner attached and powered on?
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.

Try installing HPLIP (HP Linux Imaging and Printing).
If it doesn't install a shortcut in the menu, bring up the main program with this command.Code:sudo apt-get install hplip
Once set up, it will use Xsane for the scanning part.Code:hp-toolbox
