Epson Photo PC 800: any chance to integrate it into sane/xsane/gimp?
We've got this old camera. We now have it attached to an old Mac which I have a feeling may not be for this world for too long... Hence I was wondering if there is any way to integrate this camera to have it remotely controlled by a Linux box. Any thoughts on that?
Any advice and help much appreciated.
Boris.

Ok. I did some searching and found the user manual on the Epson web site. It uses the Twain interface to integrate the camera to your computer. Looking on my CentOS (RHEL) system, I see that there is a twain driver for Wine. You might try that instead of sane/xsane.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
