drive not ready for command?
i have a problem with ubuntu but i don't even know if it's a hardware problem.
when i try to boot ubuntu it says:
hdh: drive not ready for command
hdh: dma_intr: bad DMA status (dma_stat=10)
i've been searching in google and all i can find is source code from the kernel
anybody knows what's the matter with this thing? can it be that the hd is broken? it didn't fail with mandrake, neither knoppix

ive had this problem too, for me it meant that my drive was dead but you could put it in a working pc and run some diags on it to check so don't go donating it to the shooting alley just yet
