External HDD question about FAT32 and Linux Ubuntu

I recently bought a Seagate 500gb external HDD and would like to know if it will be compatible with Linux Ubuntu as a FAT32 format. The thing is I dual boot Windows Vista and Ubuntu. Will it work fine with both?

The reason I need FAT32 is because I want to back-up my PS3 data, which only supports FAT32.
