I am not sure what category this falls under so ... I am trying to get the Linux Setup to recognize the Iomega CDRW86522EXT 3-C Drive (USB CD-RW Drive) on my Fujitsu LifeBook B142 Series in order to install the software. It is this I am having trouble with. I also have an Adaptec AUA-1420A USB 2.0 PCMCIA USB Port Card. Is there any way I can get the RedHat Linux 6.1 distribution to recognize the Drive as well as the Card, or at least the Drive?

This topic has been split from the discussion here. As lakerdonald said, please don't hijack threads.

Now...are you able to boot from the CD drive? Can you set your BIOS to allow you to boot from USB? Does your BIOS recognize your USB CDROM?"Time is an illusion. Lunchtime, doubly so."
