Hi, I own an HP ProBook 6540b which has a few media keys, I'm able to bind all of these using the WM settings and they work just fine. I was thinking of having some of these keys work globally so I wouldn't need to be logged in X to use them. Is something like that possible? What I need is a daemon that captures keyboard events before they reach the X window system. I used to have a few commands assigned like this on my old laptop using the ACPI daemon, but this laptop's media keys generate keyboard events, not ACPI events.
