Sucks having to use such an old video card but the motherboards PCI Express port broke and that's the only card I have at the moment.

Don't know about the S3 video card, but I have a 3700+ that works great with Ubuntu 10,04. Hope that helps.

Well, X doesn't even load in Ubuntu and Fedora when I tried them. Kubuntu and Slackware worked, but KDE runs too slow with the video card.
Kubuntu also had some graphical artifacts if run at 1024x768.

I got XCFE working now, much faster. To fix the graphics corruption, I changed to 16-bit colour.
Just one question though, how do I connect to a Windows workgroup on LAN?
I've been trying Gigolo with Samba but haven't got it to work.
