In my case, I use the SSD for the root partition of the OS, and try to keep most of the disk writes going to a separate mechanical drive. This way, I can use the smaller, less expensive SSDs, and still benefit from the super fast read speeds they deliver. They are starting to drop quickly in price and they are increasing in storage capacity, Fortunately, they are also becoming less susceptible to damage due to continued disk writes, or at least the manufacturers are telling they are. Hopefully, it will be a long while before mine stop working.oz
