    Modem Test tool!


    Sorry if this is in the wrong forum!

    Is there a way I can test my dialup modem to see if its hardware or software, I want to move my laptop to linux only and learn all about linux however I need to know if my modem is hardware or software and if its software where to get the drivers. Can somone please help me?

    You can check the spec sheet at HP's website (or in your manual) to see what type of modem it is. Or you can look at Hardware Info in your Winblows "System Info" dealie (win_key+pause/break).
