Fan runs full speed Ubuntu
When I boot up my laptop running ubuntu the cpu core temperature slowly rises as the fan is going slowly. Once it hits exactly 80 degrees Celsius, the fan starts up at full speed and even when the CPU drops in temperature, the fan keeps going at full speed. The pwmconfig command adds the "coretemp" module to my /etc/modules file. When I echo a value (0-3) to my "/proc/acpi/fan/FAN/state", nothing changes. I have a Toshiba Satellite L355-S7915 laptop running ubuntu 10.10 kernel 2.6.35-28. Is there any solution or is my fan simply not compatible?

Upon further inspection, the fan is not running at all until the CPU hits 80 degrees Celsius. Is there a way to determine the daemon that makes this happen?
